Finished up the second half to my first custom vinyl toy. I’m really pleased with how it is coming out.
I’ve been wanting to dip my feet in the designer toy pool for a long time now. The first few vinyl customs I tried, came out horribly. Not just in quality of the sharpies smearing all over the place, or the final glaze coming out tacky…. But I realized after reading an article featured in Clutter Magazine about Josh Mayhem, that I wasn’t really doing what I do. I was just imitating others people’s work and styles. So for this piece, I set out to do what I do on canvas but in the toy medium. Still have some work to finish on the head. Here is the bottom half pretty much finished.
